That is 30 inches by 30 inches.
For 32 of clear width the door width from jamb to jamb should be 34.
It must be exactly 60 inches.
Sliding door operation requires no floor space for opening door.
The realistic minimum shower door width tends to be 550mm when the space is perhaps tighter but when the customer still wants to make the most of the opening into the shower space.
Normally with smaller single frameless shower doors the glass thickness is 8mm this keeps both the weight and cost down.
Ideal for wide openings with a typical opening of 60 inches wide.
When designing your shower enclosure keep in mind that each glass panel needs to be at least 4 1 2 wide which is the minimum width for tempering glass and supporting the hardware.
To meet ada universal design standards plan on 34 of clear opening or a 36 door.
The interior shower size is at least 36x36 inches.
Because shower doors are usually glass and can break and because of other access issues bathroom code states that shower doors need to have at least 24 inches of opening clearance.
When framing the alcove do not add any extra space to accommodate the shower tub.
Alcove shower bathtubs commonly are 60 inches wide and their bypass or sliding doors are usually about 58 inches.
Since 34 is not a standard door width most designers spec a 36 door which is not usually a special order.
Consist of two and sometimes three panels that slide along each other on tracks.
Also the door will need to be a minimum of 22 wide and no more than 36 wide.
