Our basement is finished with jyp rock tiles on ceiling and we can hear at times especially at night mice scurrying above. In the above photo on the left side we see an example of a rat trapped in a drop ceiling at an office. We live in a town house approx. Mice are not highly intelligent and if food is around they ll go for it.

Obviously you can t walk around in a drop ceiling the way you can in an attic. There are some special considerations in some ceiling cases however.
